Jennifer Perez Fatally Struck in Murphysboro, Illinois Pedestrian Accident – November 4, 2025

On the evening of November 4, 2025, a fatal pedestrian collision occurred in Murphysboro, Illinois. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer Perez, age 50, was struck by a southbound 2019 Toyota Tundra while walking northbound along Business Highway 13 near West Industrial Park Road at approximately 7:03 p.m. The impact left Perez critically injured, and she was transported to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The 80-year-old driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities have stated that the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
