Jim McCoy, Clint Lawrence, and Justin Faulkner Identified in Fatal Hartshorne Incident | Hartshorne, Oklahoma | November 3, 2025
Authorities in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma have formally identified three men who died in separate incidents connected to the H-Town Throwdown drag racing event in Hartshorne. Alderson Fire Chief Jim McCoy and Haileyville Police Officer Clint Lawrence were killed on Saturday after a crash that occurred during the racing activities. In a separate incident the previous day, Justin Faulkner, husband of Hartshorne Mayor Ashley Faulkner, died after being accidentally electrocuted while assisting with event setup.
Local agencies have begun coordinating support for the affected families as funeral arrangements remain pending. The community response reflects the significant roles each man held: McCoy as a fire chief, Lawrence as a police officer remembered by his daughter for his compassion and humor, and Faulkner as a volunteer contributing to event preparation. The incidents have drawn attention to safety considerations surrounding large-scale public events and the vulnerabilities faced by both first responders and volunteers.
