Tragic Loss at H-Town Throwdown: Remembering Justin Faulkner, Clint Lawrence, and Jim McCoy in Hartshorne, Oklahoma – November 3, 2025

In Hartshorne, Oklahoma, the annual H-Town Throwdown event was marked by tragedy as three individuals lost their lives in separate incidents connected to the weekend’s festivities. Officials confirmed that 42-year-old volunteer Justin Faulkner, 58-year-old police officer Clint Lawrence, and 60-year-old fire chief Jim McCoy died while serving their community in separate but related accidents.

According to emergency management director Leonard Baughman, Lawrence and McCoy were killed Saturday during a vehicle crash that occurred amid the drag racing event, while Faulkner was fatally electrocuted Friday evening while setting up lighting equipment. McCoy had served as Chief of the Alderson Fire Department for eight years, and Lawrence had recently completed his training at the CLEET Academy for the Haileyville Police Department. Faulkner, a former firefighter and husband of Hartshorne Mayor Ashley Faulkner, was remembered by his wife as a devoted husband and dedicated community member. Local officials and residents have expressed profound grief for the families and colleagues affected by these devastating losses.
