Charles Rempel Killed in Bicycle Accident at Edmond, Oklahoma Intersection – October 7, 2025

On the morning of October 7, 2025, Charles Rempel, 75, of Edmond, Oklahoma, was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing at a marked crosswalk near Broadway and Covell. The incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. as Rempel, wearing reflective gear, attempted to cross Covell Road. A vehicle turning southbound collided with him, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.

According to the Edmond Police Department, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. No arrest has been made, and authorities have indicated it is too early to determine whether charges will be filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
