Juliet Komanta Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash | Springdale, Arkansas | October 10, 2025

Authorities in Springdale, Arkansas have confirmed the death of cyclist Juliet Jabuwe-Komanta following a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Highway 71 and Don Tyson Parkway on the night of October 9. According to the Springdale Police Department, first responders arrived shortly after 10 p.m. and transported Komanta to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Surveillance footage captured a white Honda Pilot involved in the incident, allowing investigators to identify the vehicle’s owner, 26-year-old Jose Medina.

Police stated that Medina admitted to striking Komanta while making a right turn at the intersection. He told officers that although he initially stopped, he fled due to fear. Medina has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death. He is currently held on a $15,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on October 31 as the investigation proceeds.
