Mark Peters Identified in Fatal Industrial Accident | Westport, MA | October 10, 2025
On October 10, 2025, 49-year-old Mark Peters of Taunton, Massachusetts, was killed in an industrial accident at Mid City Scrap located on State Road in Westport. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 11 a.m. following reports of a medical emergency. Upon arrival, Peters was found suffering from severe crushing injuries to his lower extremities.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. According to Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, the incident remains under investigation by Westport Police, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Authorities stated that the accident does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
