Justin Jacobs Critically Injured in Detroit Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash – June 16, 2025

On June 16, 2025, 27-year-old Justin Jacobs of Lincoln Park sustained severe injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding his motorcycle near East Jefferson Avenue and Philip Street on Detroit’s east side. According to police, the vehicle involved allegedly ran a stop sign before colliding with Jacobs and fleeing the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned with disabling damage, but the identity of the driver remains unknown.

Jacobs, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, suffered multiple injuries including a broken femur and a collapsed lung. He has undergone surgery and remains hospitalized. Detroit Police are continuing their investigation and asking the public for information. The family of the victim is urging accountability while expressing gratitude for the bystanders who stopped to assist at the scene.
