Jacob Hoel Killed in Motorcycle Collision at Highway 169 and 213th Avenue in Elk River, MN – October 14, 2025

On October 14, 2025, a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of southbound Highway 169 and 213th Avenue in Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2022 Harley Davidson RA1250 traveling southbound on Highway 169 collided with a 2021 Ram 3500 that was attempting to cross the southbound lanes from westbound 213th Avenue. The crash occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. under dry road conditions.

The motorcyclist, Jacob Christopher Hoel, a 25-year-old from Blaine, Minnesota, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Hoel was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The driver of the Ram, 22-year-old David Johnathan Marsh of Farmington, was not injured. The Elk River Police Department, Elk River Fire Department, and Allina Ambulance assisted at the scene. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
