Kimberly Jares Injured in Rear-End Collision on Highway 78 in Rush Lake Township, Minnesota – September 26, 2025

A rear-end collision occurred on the afternoon of September 26, 2025, on Highway 78 at mile marker 40 in Rush Lake Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. The incident involved two southbound vehicles: a 2002 Ford F350 and a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The Ford pickup, operated by a 16-year-old male from Ottertail, collided with the Hyundai Tucson from behind under dry road conditions.

Kimberly Jo Jares, a 58-year-old passenger in the Hyundai Tucson, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Perham Hospital. The driver of the Hyundai, 62-year-old Frank Victor Jares of Battle Lake, was also injured. The juvenile driver of the Ford F350 was uninjured. Emergency response units from Perham Fire, Perham Ambulance, and the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
