Laurie Jensen Killed in Des Plaines, Illinois Head-On Crash Involving USPS Truck on December 6, 2025

Laurie Jensen, a 65-year-old resident of Mount Prospect, was killed in a head-on collision involving a U.S. Postal Service truck in Des Plaines, Illinois, on December 6, 2025. The crash occurred at approximately 10:07 a.m. in the 1700 block of Mannheim Road when a USPS truck traveling southbound crossed into the northbound lanes and struck Jensen’s vehicle, according to Des Plaines police.

Both drivers were transported to a hospital following the collision, where Jensen was later pronounced dead. Authorities stated that the postal truck driver reported losing control of the vehicle and was cited for improper lane usage. The driver is scheduled to appear in court in January 2026. The incident remains under investigation as officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
