Luis De La Cruz Killed in Midland, Texas Motorcycle Crash With Semi on SH 349 on November 7, 2025

Luis Mario Cardenas-De La Cruz, a 20-year-old motorcyclist from Midland, Texas, was killed in a collision with a semi-truck on State Highway 349 on November 7, 2025. The crash occurred around 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of SH 349 and East County Road 120, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Investigators reported that the semi-truck was stopped in the center turn lane traveling southbound and began a left turn without yielding to oncoming traffic. A motorcycle traveling northbound collided with the truck, resulting in fatal injuries to De La Cruz, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured, and the investigation remains ongoing.
