On November 22, 2025, Madison Riley Hull, 23, of Tyler, Texas, was fatally attacked by three pit bull dogs while dog-sitting at a local residence. Hull had gone to return the animals inside after they escaped, at which point the dogs turned aggressive. Emergency responders arrived promptly, and a deputy fatally shot one of the dogs when it charged toward him. Hull was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hull was six months from completing her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at the University of Texas at Tyler. She had been inspired by her younger brother’s autism diagnosis to pursue a career in education and was described by family as compassionate and devoted. The homeowners’ children had been under her care for several weeks, and her mother emphasized Hull’s dedication to both her family and community. The incident remains under investigation, with a scheduled hearing regarding the dogs set in Smith County Precinct 2.
