Mardee Matlack Killed in Randall County, Texas Crash at Soncy and Cemetery Roads on December 5, 2025

On the night of December 5, 2025, Mardee Matlack, 56, was killed in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Soncy Road and West Cemetery Road in Randall County, Texas. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 10:33 p.m. when a westbound vehicle failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck Matlack’s southbound 2010 Chrysler Town & Country.

Matlack was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the impact and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The other driver, identified as 18-year-old Karlee Barfoot, along with a passenger, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital in Amarillo. Authorities reported that the investigation remains preliminary as officials document the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.
