Mary Jenkins Injured in Fatal Collision on State Highway 16 in Van Buren County, Arkansas

On August 17, 2025, a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 16 in rural Van Buren County, Arkansas, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left two others injured. The Arkansas State Police report that a 2023 Chevrolet traveling eastbound crossed the double yellow line and collided with a westbound 2008 Dodge. The impact was severe, leading to the deaths of Madiline M. Cotton, 90, and Henry E. Cotton, 94, both of Clinton.

Among those injured was 74-year-old Mary Jean Jenkins of Clinton, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet. She sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Hospital for medical treatment. Her husband, 78-year-old John Albert Jenkins, was driving the vehicle and was also injured. Weather and road conditions at the time of the crash were clear and dry.
