Michael B. Griffith Identified as Driver Killed in Illinois Route 32 Crash, La Place, Illinois (September 18, 2025)

On September 18, 2025, a fatal motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Illinois Route 32 and U.S. Route 36 near La Place, Illinois. The crash, which took place at approximately 10:45 a.m., involved two semi-trucks. The driver of one of the vehicles, Michael B. Griffith, was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Illinois State Police confirmed that one semi-truck, traveling on IL 32, pulled into the intersection and was struck by a semi on US 36. Both drivers were hospitalized following the crash. The intersection was closed for several hours as a result of the investigation and scene clearance. The incident remains under investigation.
