Moises Castillo Killed in Kingsville, Texas Motorcycle Crash on December 30, 2025

KINGSVILLE, Texas — Moises Castillo, 35, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and long-serving public safety professional, died in a motorcycle collision on December 30, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 11:57 a.m. at the intersection of Caesar Avenue and 8th Street. Preliminary reports indicate that Castillo’s 2025 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound when a 2000 Ford pickup, traveling westbound, turned left in front of him. Castillo was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital–Kleberg, where he was pronounced dead. The pickup driver, a 67-year-old Kingsville resident, sustained minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol and Kingsville Police Department.

Castillo dedicated more than a decade to public service, beginning his fire career in 2013 with the Refinery Terminal Fire Company, later serving with Nueces County ESD No. 2, and concluding his fire service with the Kingsville Fire Department from 2018 to 2025. He earned multiple professional credentials, including paramedic certification, Advanced Structure Firefighter, Fire Instructor II, EMS Instructor, Driver Operator–Pumper, Advanced Fire Inspector, and Fire Officer I. At the time of his death, Castillo had completed the police academy at Del Mar College and was scheduled to be sworn in as a Kingsville Police Department officer in January 2026. He is survived by his wife and son.
