Officer James Michael Logan Injured in Elton Hills Drive Crash in Rochester, Minnesota on January 18, 2026

Officer James Michael Logan was injured Sunday night after a collision involving two vehicles and two officers on foot in Rochester, Minnesota. The incident occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. on January 18, 2026, at 2312 Elton Hills Drive NW in Olmsted County. Snow- and ice-covered road conditions were reported at the time of the crash.

Authorities stated that a 2018 Honda Pilot traveling westbound on Elton Hills Drive NW collided with a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and struck two officers who were outside their vehicle. Logan, 51, of Rochester, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic for treatment. A second officer, 22-year-old Preston Satzke, was also injured and taken to Mayo Clinic with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda, 18-year-old Najmo Nuno Khalif of Rochester, and his passenger, 18-year-old Jaeleen Martinez, were not injured. A passenger in the Chevrolet Tahoe, 41-year-old Byron Dwayne Campbell of Austin, Texas, was evaluated at Mayo Clinic and reported no injuries. Alcohol was not suspected as a contributing factor. Emergency response included the Rochester Police Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
