Patrick E. Vaughn Found Dead at Pontiac Correctional Center in Livingston County, Illinois on December 29, 2025

On the evening of December 29, 2025, authorities reported the death of Patrick E. Vaughn, a 29-year-old inmate at Pontiac Correctional Center in Livingston County, Illinois. According to the Livingston County Coroner, Vaughn was discovered unresponsive inside his cell in the facility’s north cell house at approximately 5:30 p.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

Patrick E. Vaughn was pronounced dead at 6:07 p.m. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is being conducted jointly by the Illinois State Police, the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, and the correctional facility.
