Peggy A. O’Neil Killed in Sycamore, Illinois Pedestrian Crash on December 18, 2025 Near Airport Road
Peggy A. O’Neil, a 66-year-old woman from the Sycamore area, died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a roadway near her home in unincorporated Sycamore, Illinois. The incident occurred on Airport Road, south of Barber Greene Road, during the evening hours of December 17, 2025. Emergency responders transported O’Neil to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, a 36-year-old Sycamore man driving a sedan remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges had been filed as of the latest update. The crash remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.
