Philip Wright Injured in Fatal Highway 77 Collision | Apple Valley, MN | October 13, 2025

On October 13, 2025, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on northbound Highway 77 just south of Interstate 35E in Apple Valley, Minnesota. The incident involved a 2024 Ram 1500 and a 2018 Transit Bus. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Ram 1500, driven by 44-year-old Ryan Matthew Ebert of Big Lake, collided with the bus and a cable barrier at approximately 9:56 p.m.

The driver of the bus, identified as 65-year-old Philip Alan Wright of Apple Valley, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. Ebert, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and had alcohol involvement, was pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. The Apple Valley Police and Fire Departments, Allina EMS, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
