A head-on collision in Lawrence County, Arkansas, left one man dead and another injured on January 19, 2026. The crash occurred at approximately 12:09 p.m. on U.S. Highway 63 at the Black River bridge in Black Rock, according to a preliminary report released by the Arkansas State Police.

Authorities reported that a 2000 Mercury traveling westbound lost control and crossed the center line before striking an eastbound 1997 Ford driven by 51-year-old Randy Tribble of Pocahontas. The driver of the Mercury, identified as 42-year-old George Koettel of Imboden, was killed in the impact. Tribble survived the crash but sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital in Jonesboro for treatment. Officials have not publicly detailed the extent of his injuries.
