Raul Palomin Killed in Weslaco, Texas Auto-Pedestrian Crash on FM 1015 — January 4, 2026 Incident Involving Chevrolet Silverado

A fatal auto-pedestrian collision in Weslaco, Texas, resulted in the death of 48-year-old Raul Palomin on the evening of January 4, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m. along FM 1015 south of Mile 13 1/2 Road. Authorities identified Palomin as a resident of Edcouch.

According to preliminary information released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on FM 1015 struck Palomin after he reportedly moved west toward the northbound lane of traffic for reasons that remain unclear. Investigators stated that Palomin entered the vehicle’s path and was struck by the truck’s front right-side mirror. The driver stopped immediately and attempted to render aid. Palomin was transported to McAllen Medical Hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash. Officials confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing.
