Robert Lund Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident in Wheeling, Illinois on September 29, 2025
On the evening of September 29, 2025, a pedestrian was fatally injured in a vehicle collision in Wheeling, Illinois. According to the Wheeling Police Department, 72-year-old Robert Lund of Geneva was struck by a 2018 Ford Explorer at approximately 6:25 p.m. in the 1000 block of Valley Stream Drive.
Lund was initially transported to Endeavor Health Glenbrook Hospital and later transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of the following morning. Authorities have not released additional information regarding the driver or contributing factors to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
