On the evening of September 30, 2025, a three-vehicle collision occurred on northbound Highway 53 at milepost 62 in Eveleth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. According to official reports, a 2014 Chevy Traverse operated by 17-year-old Jermaine William Boshey of Virginia, MN, collided with two vehicles that were stopped at a red light.
The incident involved a 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by Ann Katherine Lamppa, 75, of Virginia, MN, and a 2017 GMC Terrain driven by Elizabeth Debra Lundquist, 73, of Hibbing, MN. All involved parties, including passengers, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Essentia Health for treatment. The crash occurred under dry road conditions and is being handled with assistance from the Virginia Fire Department, Eveleth Fire Department, and St. Louis County Deputies.
