Ruben F. Lujano, Martese Williams, and Daekwon Cunningham Killed in I-57 Crashes, Calumet Park, IL – December 3, 2025

On December 3, 2025, three men—Ruben F. Lujano, 50; Martese Williams, 33; and Daekwon Cunningham, 29—were killed in a series of collisions on Interstate 57 near 120th Street in Calumet Park, Illinois. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, the fatalities occurred when Lujano, after being involved in an initial crash, exited his vehicle to assist others and was struck by a speeding car, which also fatally impacted Williams and Cunningham. Emergency responders confirmed that all three men died at the scene, while at least five others sustained injuries.

The Illinois State Police are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the crashes and have appealed to witnesses, particularly those with dash camera footage, to provide information. No arrests or charges have been reported at this time.
