Security Guard J.W. Bode Killed During Enid Hospital Shooting

J.W. Bode, a long-serving hospital security guard, was fatally shot during a violent incident at INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital late Sunday night, August 17, 2025. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the suspect, involved in a prior domestic disturbance, arrived at the hospital shortly before 11 p.m. and opened fire on responding officers and staff. Bode, who had worked at the facility for five years, was killed in the attack.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was ultimately shot and killed by law enforcement inside the hospital. Officials report that no other hospital staff or patients were harmed.
