Shirley Evelyn Margaret Sherlock Fatally Injured in Vermilion Lake Township, Minnesota Collision on November 19, 2025

On the morning of November 19, 2025, an intersection collision on Highway 169 at Angus Road in Vermilion Lake Township resulted in the death of 86-year-old passenger Shirley Evelyn Margaret Sherlock of Thunder Bay, Ontario. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2019 Ford Fusion traveling northbound, driven by Maty Elaine Erie of Chisholm, collided with a 2015 Ford Fusion operated by Dorothy Alice Mecleod of Thunder Bay as Mecleod crossed the intersection. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Essentia Health Virginia.

Sherlock, who was properly restrained, was also transported to the same facility, where she was pronounced deceased from injuries sustained in the crash. Road conditions were dry at the time of the incident, and no impairment was reported. The crash response involved Saint Louis County authorities and Tower Ambulance personnel, and the investigation remains ongoing.
