Travis Floyd Dies from Injuries After Hinshaw Avenue Crash in Bloomington, Illinois – September 24, 2025

On September 24, 2025, 22-year-old Travis Floyd of Bloomington, Illinois, was pronounced dead at Carle BroMenn Medical Center following injuries sustained in a crash earlier that week. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, in the 1000 block of Hinshaw Avenue, where a vehicle traveling northbound left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Floyd, a front seat passenger, suffered critical injuries and was hospitalized for several days before succumbing to blunt force trauma, according to McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder. Other occupants of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department, the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team, and the Coroner’s Office.
