Victoria Roser Killed in Tumwater, Washington Parking Lot Crash on January 12, 2026

An elderly pedestrian was killed Monday in a vehicle collision at a Tumwater grocery store parking lot, according to local officials. The incident occurred just before noon at 520 Cleveland Avenue Southeast, where Victoria Roser, an 86-year-old Olympia resident, was struck by a vehicle. The Thurston County Coroner reported that Roser died from blunt force head injuries and classified the manner of death as accidental.

Tumwater police stated that the driver, a 51-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Investigators indicated the driver did not see Roser prior to the collision. Law enforcement confirmed there were no signs of impairment and no arrest was made. The Washington State Patrol assisted with the investigation, which concluded without evidence of criminal conduct.
