Melany Campos Seriously Injured in Grant County, Washington Crash on January 12, 2026

A serious single-vehicle collision in Grant County, Washington left one person dead and another critically injured late Monday night, according to local authorities. The crash occurred in the 11000 block of Frenchman Hills Road Southwest when a sports car traveling at a high rate of speed left the roadway and crashed near an irrigation pond. Investigators reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle after overcorrecting. The driver, a 22-year-old man from Othello, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Melany Campos, a 22-year-old passenger and fellow Othello resident, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland for emergency treatment. Authorities confirmed that only two individuals were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation as officials continue to examine contributing factors, including speed and roadway conditions.
