Vincenzo Fortunato, a 35-year-old Staten Island resident and father of two, died following a workplace accident on October 28, 2025, while employed as an electrical technician for a moving company. The incident occurred in Queens as Fortunato and his crew were unloading Masonite boards from a truck, when multiple boards reportedly fell and struck him. According to the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, and the manner of death was ruled an accident. At the time of the incident, Fortunato had been exploring alternative employment opportunities, including potential union work.
Born in Brooklyn and recently settled in Prince’s Bay, Staten Island, Fortunato is remembered as a devoted husband and father who was actively involved in the lives of his children. He is survived by his wife, Erin Pianforte, who is pregnant with their third child, as well as his two children, Isabella and Shawn.
