Xochitl Monsivais Dies After Collision with Suspected Drunk Driver in Denison, Texas – October 14, 2025

In Denison, Texas, on October 14, 2025, Xochitl Monsivais, the wife of a Grayson County police sergeant, died from injuries sustained in a crash involving a suspected drunk driver earlier this month. The accident occurred on October 2 along U.S. Highway 69, where Monsivais’ family vehicle was rear-ended while attempting to make a turn. According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old David Brokaw was arrested on charges of intoxicated assault and remains in custody at the Collin County Jail. Authorities stated that one of his charges may be upgraded to manslaughter following Monsivais’ death.

Officials from the Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to Sergeant Monsivais and his family, emphasizing the department’s close-knit nature and the community’s support during this period of mourning.
