Adam Weathers Killed in Semi-Truck Collision on South Chicago Street in Joliet, IL – September 12, 2025
On September 12, 2025, a fatal motor vehicle collision occurred in Joliet, Illinois, at the intersection of South Chicago Street and Schweitzer Road. According to official reports, a Kenworth semi-tractor trailer, driven by a 54-year-old man from Cumming, Georgia, was exiting a private business and attempting to make a left turn onto northbound South Chicago Street. At that time, a southbound Chevrolet Sonic, operated by 28-year-old Adam Weathers of Joliet, struck the semi during its maneuver.
Weathers was ejected from his vehicle upon impact. Emergency responders from the Joliet Fire Department transported him to St. Joseph Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:52 p.m. The truck driver was not injured. The Joliet Police Department conducted a full reconstruction of the crash scene and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
