Aiden Riggins Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision on Route 6 in Wellfleet, MA

On the evening of September 2, 2025, a serious two-vehicle head-on collision occurred on Route 6 near Shepley Wood Products in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. According to preliminary reports from local authorities, a 2020 BMW crossover sedan, operated by 60-year-old Carlos Ibarguen of Eastham, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2013 Audi sedan traveling eastbound.

Aiden Riggins, an 18-year-old Nauset High School senior from Orleans, MA, was the driver of the Audi and sustained serious injuries. He and his passenger, 18-year-old Samantha Barrio of Wellfleet, were both airlifted to Boston-area hospitals. The BMW’s passenger, 73-year-old Robert Erickson of Eastham, was also hospitalized with serious injuries, while the BMW’s driver was uninjured. The incident remains under investigation by Wellfleet police.
