Elizabeth Peters Injured in Goodhue County Accident

On April 12, 2025, at approximately 1:22 PM, a traffic accident occurred on Highway 57 at milepost 14 in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota. The incident involved a 2016 Mazda CX5, driven by 82-year-old Earle James Peters of Mankato, which was traveling northbound when it veered off the roadway and collided with a sign. The passenger, 77-year-old Elizabeth Rose Peters, also of Mankato, was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the vehicle’s airbags deployed upon impact, with both individuals wearing seat belts.

Emergency responders, including the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, attended the scene, and Earle and Elizabeth Peters were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for medical treatment. The road conditions were reported as dry, and authorities have confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the accident.
