Griffin Sommer Dies After Pedestrian Accident in Marble Falls
On April 3, 2025, Griffin Sommer, a 29-year-old resident of Marble Falls, Texas, was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross U.S. 281 on foot at the Third Street intersection. The incident occurred at 8:21 p.m., as reported by the Marble Falls Police Department, when Sommer crossed the highway against a green light for southbound traffic. The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid, and first responders arrived within minutes. Sommer was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin in critical condition and died from his injuries on April 23, 2025.
Sommer was a member of the Hill Country Community Theatre in Cottonwood Shores. Following the accident, theatre directors Heidi and Daniel Melton established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with medical expenses. In their statement, the Meltons noted Sommer’s close ties to the family and his willingness to help others, urging the community to donate to the fundraiser or share the campaign to support Sommer’s family.
