Investigation into Mya Carlton's Death in Kent County Jail
On June 10, 2025, at approximately 7:46 p.m., a deputy at the Kent County Jail in Grand Rapids, Michigan, discovered 19-year-old Mya Carlton unresponsive in her cell during a routine check. According to the Kent County Sheriff's Office, Carlton had spoken with a staff member just 30 minutes prior to being found.
