Janakaye Schweitzer Involved in Non-Life-Threatening Car Accident in Hackensack, Cass County

On April 8, 2025, at approximately 7:21 a.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 371 at County Road 40 in Hackensack, Cass County, Minnesota, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to one driver. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2021 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 41-year-old Janakaye Ronee Schweitzer of Crosslake, Minnesota, was traveling northbound when it stopped to yield to a vehicle turning onto County Road 40. A 2005 Chevy Silverado, operated by 42-year-old Gavin Ray Peterson of Hackensack, Minnesota, failed to notice the stopped Jeep and rear-ended it, causing the accident.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident, and alcohol was not a factor. Schweitzer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Joe’s Hospital in Brainerd for treatment, while Peterson reported no injuries.
