Rick Plamann Involved in Multi-Vehicle Collision in Litchfield, Minnesota on April 8, 2025

On April 8, 2025, at approximately 10:23 a.m., a multi-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 22 and East Saint Paul Street in Litchfield, Minnesota, resulting in injuries to one driver. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident involved three vehicles: a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2021 Kenworth Semi, and a 2012 Buick Lacrosse. The Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 44-year-old Anthony Allen Fransen of Litchfield, was traveling westbound on East St. Paul Street when it collided with the Kenworth Semi, operated by 25-year-old Jonathon Micheal Niece of Watkins, which was northbound on Highway 22. Following the initial impact, the Chevrolet Silverado struck the Buick Lacrosse, driven by 54-year-old Rick James Plamann of Cokato, who was eastbound on East St. Paul Street.

Rick Plamann sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Meeker Hospital for treatment. The drivers of the other two vehicles, Fransen and Niece, were not injured. All drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the collision. The Litchfield Police Department, Litchfield Fire and Rescue, and Mayo Ambulance responded to the scene, with the investigation being handled by the Minnesota State Patrol's St. Cloud District.
