Jeffrey Tanafranca Killed in Arlington Heights Motorcycle Accident – September 10, 2025

On September 10, 2025, a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Golf Road and Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Jeffrey Tanafranca, 44, of Mundelein, was riding a 1979 Yamaha Special 650 motorcycle eastbound on Golf Road when a westbound 2017 Toyota Sienna minivan turned left in front of him. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the minivan, which was driven by a 48-year-old woman from Waukegan. Tanafranca, who was wearing a helmet, sustained critical injuries and was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Tanafranca was pronounced dead at Endeavor Health Northwestern Community Hospital. The driver of the minivan was not injured and remained at the scene. Preliminary reports and independent witness accounts suggest that Tanafranca had a green light and was traveling at a moderate speed. The incident is under investigation by the Arlington Heights Police Department with assistance from the Major Case Assistance Team's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit. No charges have been filed as of this time.
