Karen Bloomdahl Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 23

On May 30, 2025, at 4:28 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 23 and Harbor Street in Arthur Township, Kanabec County, Minnesota. The incident involved a 2013 Buick Regal, driven by Jamie Rochelle Mikush, 44, of Pine City, MN, and a 1997 Ford F250, driven by Russell Alden Bloomdahl, 84, of Watertown, MN. The Buick was attempting to turn westbound onto Highway 23 from Harbor Street when it collided with the Ford, which was traveling eastbound on Highway 23. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and sustained no injuries during the incident.

The passenger in the Ford F250, Karen Lyn Bloomdahl, 82, of Watertown, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision and was transported to Welia Hospital in Mora for medical treatment. The road conditions were dry, and alcohol was not a contributing factor. The Kanabec County Sheriff's Department and Welia Ambulance responded to the scene, and the Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
