Ladonna and Charles Mikkelson Die in Fatal Car Accident on Highway 15

On July 22, 2025, at approximately 1:47 p.m., a fatal car accident occurred on southbound Highway 15 near 170th Street in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, Minnesota. A 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Ladonna Mae Mikkelson, 75, of Madelia, Minnesota, was stopped for road construction when it was struck by a 2021 Nissan Altima, driven by Alyssa Dawn Odens, 18, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The collision resulted in the deaths of Ladonna Mikkelson and her passenger, Charles Keith Mikkelson, 83, also of Madelia. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, and airbags deployed in both vehicles. The incident took place under dry road conditions.
