Maria Magdalen Talavera Involved in Deer Collision on Highway 62

On June 5, 2025, at 9:31 PM, an incident occurred on Highway 62 near 390th Avenue in SPRINGFIELD TWP, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. A 2020 Chevy Silverado, driven by Ilich Isaias Calderon, 43, of Brewster, Minnesota, was traveling westbound when it struck a deer. Maria Magdalen Talavera, 40, also of Brewster, Minnesota, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision. No airbags were deployed during the incident.

Both individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Windom Hospital for treatment. The road conditions were reported as dry, and the response included assistance from Heron Lake Ambulance and the Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office.
