Marisa Casebolt Killed in Fatal Collision at Olson Memorial Highway in Minneapolis

A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 08:38 AM on September 4, 2025, at the intersection of Penn Avenue and Olson Memorial Highway in Minneapolis, Minnesota. According to reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2010 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on Penn Avenue when it entered the intersection and was struck on the side by a westbound 2012 Volkswagen Passat. The impact resulted in immediate fatalities and significant damage to both vehicles.

Marisa Ardys Casebolt, the 25-year-old driver of the Ford Focus, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Also fatally injured was passenger Liberty Borg, age 25, of Minneapolis. A six-year-old male passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. The driver of the Volkswagen, 45-year-old Troy Mike Payton of St. Paul, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at North Memorial. The road conditions were reported as dry, and no alcohol involvement was indicated.
