Mohammed Shehayber Dies After Being Struck by SUV in Chicago
On July 16, 2025, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Mohammed Shehayber, a 54-year-old resident of Palos Hills, Illinois, was struck by a 2014 Jeep Cherokee while emerging from a sewer at the BP gas station he owned, located at 6702 S. Pulaski Rd. in Chicago. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, had just finished pumping gas and was pulling away from pump 6 when the collision occurred. Shehayber sustained critical injuries, including fractures to his neck, clavicle, pelvis, and arm, and was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 12:23 a.m. on July 23, 2025. An autopsy is scheduled, and authorities have not issued any citations, noting no indication that the driver was impaired.
