Multi-Vehicle Collision on Illinois Route 33 Involves Jackie Bushue

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a three-vehicle collision occurred on Illinois Route 33 in the northwest part of Effingham County, Illinois. The incident took place at the railroad crossing a quarter mile east of 300th Street in Liberty Township, near Beecher City. According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, all three vehicles were traveling westbound. An uninvolved tanker truck had stopped at the railroad crossing, with vehicles driven by 66-year-old Jackie Bushue of Beecher City and 25-year-old Cole Dusablon of Newton halted behind it. However, 26-year-old Ryan Shaw of Aledo failed to notice the stopped vehicles and struck the rear of Bushue’s vehicle, causing it to collide with Dusablon’s vehicle and subsequently veer into the north ditch.

Jackie Bushue sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Ryan Shaw was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and for driving on a suspended license.
