Nola Lobdell Dies After Potential Drowning Incident in Peoria

On July 28, 2025, Nola A. Lobdell, a 6-year-old resident of Peoria, Illinois, was found unresponsive in a pool at the Mt. Hawley Country Club during an employee appreciation event. Emergency services transported her to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on August 1, 2025, at 2:14 p.m.According to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, Lobdell was not breathing and had no heartbeat when found, despite receiving CPR. An autopsy is scheduled for August 4, 2025. Another 7-year-old girl was also found unresponsive at the scene, but no update on her condition has been provided. The incident remains under investigation.
