David Banks Involved in Serious Motorcycle Accident
On July 28, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on Highway 61 near 190th Street East in Marshan Township, Dakota County, Minnesota. The incident involved a 2025 Yamaha XTZ690 motorcycle, operated by David Stuart Banks, 62, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a 2017 Ford F350 truck, driven by Eric Charles Snyder, 55, of Hastings, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Highway 61 when the truck pulled onto the highway heading westbound. The vehicles collided, resulting in the motorcycle veering into the west ditch. David Banks sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital. Eric Snyder was not injured. The investigation is being conducted by the Minnesota State Patrol, with assistance from the Hastings Fire Department and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office.
