Tragic I-40 Crash Claims Life of Macomb Resident Dalton French

On April 9, 2025, a devastating accident on Interstate 40 near Triple X Road in Oklahoma City claimed the life of 27-year-old Dalton French from Macomb. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), French was driving a 1989 Honda Accord when he collided with a stopped vehicle at approximately 5:25 a.m., following a chain of events initiated by an alleged drunk driver. Pinned in his vehicle for nearly six hours, French was pronounced dead at the scene by the Oklahoma City Fire Department, leaving a profound loss for his community and loved ones.

The OHP crash report details that the incident began when a vehicle, driven by an individual suspected of driving under the influence and with a suspended license, lost control and struck an object, disabling the car. A second vehicle managed to stop safely, but French was unable to avoid the collision. The driver of the first vehicle was arrested.
