Robert Blake Injured in Quincy Car Crash on Wismann Lane

On June 3, 2025, at approximately 10:18 a.m., a collision occurred on Wismann Lane in Quincy, Illinois, involving two vehicles, as reported by the Adams County Sheriff's Department. A 2016 Nissan Frontier, driven by Robert Blake, 77, of Quincy, was traveling eastbound when it collided with a 1995 Honda Civic driven by Edward Welcher III, 35, also of Quincy. Welcher, traveling westbound, made a left turn onto North 43rd Street in front of Blake’s vehicle, resulting in the Nissan overturning multiple times. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

Following the crash, both Blake and Welcher were transported by Adams County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Adams County Sheriff's Department issued a citation to Welcher for failing to yield during a left turn. The incident remains under review by the authorities.
